Safe Training

Weight-training is often beneficial, but it can sometimes become dangerous. It can thus generate serious joint problems, especially in the lower back. Some free weight exercises produce important joint and muscle stresses and compressions in the lower back region.

Among these exercises we find: the squat, the deadlift, the bent-over rowing, the standing barbell curl, as well as some weightlifting exercises such as the clean, the jerk and the push press.

It is then recommended to be cautious during the execution of these exercises, or else to find more secure exercise alternatives.

Weight-training programs

Weight training serves many purposes. It can notably sculpt a body, improve your physical condition and increase sports performances.

I am a consultant in weight-training. Holding a master of science (M.Sc.) in exercise physiology from the University of Montreal, I present more than 20 years of experience in weight-training, training planning and physical conditioning.

As a former provincial decathlon and triple-jump champion, as well as a finalist at the M. Quebec City bodybuilding contest, I possess a deep practical hands-on experience in the field.
